Expecting baby is like being on a thrilling rollercoaster. There are the moments of build up (pregnancy) as you climb to the peak towards the drop (labor) and once you get off the rollercoaster after all the twists and turns of pregnancy and labor you're left kind of dizzy, euphoric and ready for the next thrill. Those cycles of up and down and highs and lows continue in other ways: highs and lows of the newborn phase, the up and downs of postpartum emotions that having someone in your corner to help navigate this experience sounds like a really good idea.
That's why you're here after all, I commend you for seeking the support you know you'll want in your most vulnerable moments.
A doula is a non-medical, emotional and physical support person.
